Grommit Sayin Hello

Hi All

Just signed up after TCR from here sent me a link to this site.

I have been fly fishing and fly tying for over 25 years now after being converted from coarse fishing. Never looked back since.

I own one of the largest tackle shops in Northumberland, UK and through this have been introduced to many wonderful people around the world with the shared passion of angling, including TCR :D

My fly fishing is predominantly for salmon, sea trout and brown trout on the rivers but I also try to do a bit of stillwater fishing when I get the time. Ironically with having a tackle shop I dont get to fish as often as I like (do any of us??) but keep promising to do more

Thats enough of me going on. Site looks good and I hope I can contribute in some way

:D :D

Havent tried fly fishing for carp yet as the area I live in has very little in the way of coarse fishing.

Most of my salmon and sea trout fising is done on the River Tyne and Coquet and my brown trout fishing on the River Wansbeck. I am only 1 hour drive from the River Tweed with some quality salmon fishing available

I was in Ireland a month ago salmon/sea trout fishing on the Dowross river at Kylemore Abbey but the conditions weren't good, low water, brilliant sunshine and temperatures of 23 degrees plus. If anyone is going to Ireland, fish this stretch of the river as it is stunning. I have some photos that I will post of it. I was going to try some fly fishing for mackerel while I was over there but we were a bit early and the mackerel werent in.
