riffleriversteelheadslayer 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2010 a small trip to the Rifle River Our starting point is exactly 1.2 miles from my house a locally known public access called turtle park here is the view upstream We enter here and today we are going to head downstream for this adventure. On the far side of the river is one of my favorite little holding spot good for a brown or two. Keeping our shadows off the hole is very important in this section the water is about 4.5 feet deep in this hole but the trout are very skiddish here. Under this log is usually a good hangout for a rainbow in the evening. Here is a one of many natural occuring Columbine you find scattered along the river bed. This rock has produced many trout for me in the past just becareful to not get hung up on it with a trophy holding your fly. And the river goes on for miles but its lunch time for this grizzly. As we leave watch along the shore for what could be a birth right before your eyes we were a bit late on this one but he is still wet. Thanks for coming along hope you enjoyed this little trip maybe next time we will get into some fish.
