Dahoffman72 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2013 I have been working on a couple Sockeye flies, I saw one called the Mini Krystal Shrimp and decided to try my luck at making something similar.
tctrout 0 Report post Posted August 13, 2013 Here's my latest YouTube video, featuring a Hot Spot Spider (which is close to synonymous as a soft hackle). This is a fun pattern because it has lots of history, but also utilizes a modern material, Glo-Brite, for the hot spot. Enjoy! TC

hairwing 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2013 Some sweet tasty flies guys! This time i went with quite possibly the simplest most ugly nymph you could tie, the Jim Teeny Nymph (weighted). 1 material. Nice job Jam. Sporty hook your usin'. Teeny was always huggin' some 30 pounder in magazine pics in the early days which of course he caught on his nymph. He sold me and I tied up some up back in the day, but alas never hooked any fish around here with that fly. Those big west coast steel were amazing! His patent.....http://www.google.com/patents/US3821862?printsec=abstract&dq=teeny+nymph&ei=V90OUvSmLcKVygGrr4Aw#v=onepage&q=teeny%20nymph&f=false
FlyFishin'Jam 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2013 Oooo shit, pardon my language but patent!? I did not realize, this means i should be not tying it without his say so? Or is that just for sale? Like he has the business rights?

Like he has the business rights? Yeah...I know patents on flies are kinda snooty and against "the code" but fear not as long as you don't have 2 million packaged in China for your profit, I don't think JT will be after you.....I hope not anyway. FlyFishin'Jam 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2013 Yeah i did not realize, am just a lowly angler here fishing patterns, did not realize any patent and no way i sell any flies. His pattern deserves a mention, as does Jim.
