March Flies from the Vise

Recommended Posts

March is starting up with some very small caenis for a swap, so to avoid more stress on the eyes I had to do some doubles in green & blue this morning:

now back to the caenis hatch

Here's my version of Lance Egan's Frenchie. I tied this on a jig hook, which will help by allowing the fly to snag less. The addition of the disco bead is something I really like, and it gives this fly a great finished look.

Still tying up pike flys for this spring. Been having some fun making big 10" flashabou flys mixed with some white buck tail and yellow big-fly fiber. Man do they look good in the water.

Also some more big EP flys.

Bottom one looks great!

Here's a very poorly steelhead tie. Did the body in hand, wings in the vise.
