flytire 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2019 the eye did come out a little wonky its the bucktail wing! it should present white on the bottom and black on top with distinct separation of colors (similar to a mickey finn or black nosed dace), not mixed. i admit that this is my weakness that needs improvement the throat fibers should be under the hook not wrapped half way up around the shank of the hook it could be tied on a longer streamer style hook. this one is tied on a 4xl hook, maybe a 6xl to 8xl would be better it also should be tied with silver mylar piping. all i had was a holographic mylar piping (i try as much as possible to adhere to original recipes where i can) something to work on in the future. even the monkey agrees Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
