I would start by copying lures you own or if you don't have one look at pictures of similar body types and depths and go from there.

Attention to detail. You are getting ahead of yourself as that body is no where near ready for lips and paint jobs. Smooth it out, I can see every irregularity bare and it will only be magnified 100 times when you apply a finish. Sand out the lumps, carving lines, transitions and flat spots. Make it smooth and symmetrical first. Only when you can say, PERFECT, can you begin to think about lips and paint jobs. Don't be rushed, take your time and do it right.

I am going to echo what poopdeck is suggesting. Work on refining your shape and then when you get that down worry about lip angles and paint. Are you just eyeballing it or do you have a drawn/printed profile you’re basing it on?

Just so you know, the lure is 1 1/2 inches long.

I am trying to make it have a shallow dive for summer 'bows and fall grayling.
