Maybe this site needs a Topic for just women.

Nope.  Fly tiers are fly tiers.  It shouldn't matter if they're men, women, white, black, extraterrestrial, middle earther or whatever.  If we start a topic/forum just for women, then we'll need on just for Hispanics, then one just for Blacks, LBGTQ, dogs, cats, etc., etc., ad nauseum.

There are "so few" women in fly tying, I believe, just because there are "so few" women in fishing, period.  I've known a lot of women ... Grandma, Mom and 4 sisters started that trend.

Out of my family, Grandma and my youngest sister were the only ones into fishing at all.  And they were both surrounded by men who all loved it.  Imagine how many aren't exposed to fishing at all.  How many of those do you think pick up the bug without any encouragement?

I love seeing women fishing.  But, I like seeing women doing anything.  I think they're better at most things than men.  More focused, definitely more intelligent (usually) and more attentive to detail.  At least, that's my experience with my female students.
