MuskyFlyGuy 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2019 Did a float trip in Central Minnesota yesterday. Weather was partly sunny, shifted to clouds, and ended in rain, Really wanted to fish poppers, but started out fishing streamers. The bass and northerns pounded them. In fact, we lost flies to very aggressive and acrobatic northerns up to 26". The streamer fishing held up all day, but for about an hour they would nose the flies. Once the drizzle and rain started they pounded them again. I never got around to fishing poppers. Nobody else was on the water. Fly fishing for over 40 years never gave me a walleye until last week. Now this one makes two in two weeks. The hit was very aggressive and predatory. Today is catching up on home projects and tying a few flies.
