New Guy from NY

I just started to fly fish this year and just brought some tying tools to get started. thought i would stop in and check out the forum and say hellopost-61577-0-34659100-1496780242_thumb.jpg this is my first fly i have tyed

Welcome to the site, again (I read the other post first).

 

Tie up about 20 of those, when you tie identical flies back to back, you've got the pattern down.

Welcome. I'm originally from east Syracuse. Nice Willy. Found a vid that simplifies and speeds up that fly. Basically tie all at 2 eyes from eye then wrap all together wrap thread to eye and catch each material in order. Will look for link.

Try an O ring available at auto parts stores that fits over the bobbin tube to assist with hackle control and head forming/glueing. Note my wolly bugger I made this morning in olive with brown hackle.
