  3. watch Enrico Puglisi use the 'cuda indexer on youtube.
  4. I love to go tho the craft store with my wife.I walk around and get my creative juices flowing.I have tryed a lot of stuff.I also have found that the dyed marabou bleed out really, and most of the marabou was crap.Still lots of fun stuff.I get zap-a-gap there,Mary Maxim acrylic rug yarn makes great dubbing after ran through the coffie grinder.beading wire for artulated flies. Most important thing to do is have fun. The tug is the drug Bryan ibbert
  5. Barred surf perch. California central coast.
  6. The supn deer hair on the tail is fixed to a hook.At first Ieft the hook point but it was fouling so I cut the hook point off.The wire that has the rabbit fur wraped with dubbing loop is kinda stiff, not too stiff swims well, seams not to really foul, the weed guard helps I think.
  7. The crank handle came from a old toy I stole from my kid.
  8. My really pics are no good. theres a lot going in to this fly,SO you cant see all the little stuff. But that is what the bug looks like. The spun deer hair does give buoantcy to the tail.stands straght up on its head when it is at the bottom
  9. dubbing brush body, rabbit hair dubbing loop, with spun deer hair tail.
  10. Here is a pic of the crank handle, all manul. some dubbed bodys. I tie mostly big flies i love the long fibers, really buggy.I have only made a dozen or so. Here is a big fly made with dubbing brush body and dubbing loop tail.
  11. Made my self a dubbing brush maker.Tie in my wire, place my fur and fluff and stuff.pull the wire back over the material, spin in up, comb it out. There ya go.
  12. I brought this up last year,it opened a can of worms.really a can of worms they tryed to sell me some custom bait boxes for my worms.
  13. Gota get this strip off my back.Well I went out to the lake to go tubing, the water is warming up,the frost is almost over. The bass are coming in to the shallows.I was fishing a under water hill top, there's always bass around. So I fished it hard and not a hit.Up behind me comes this guy in a bass boat,he started to fish the water I just fished. The guy was rippin" lips big time,He hooked with three nice fish in about maybe 15 or 20 minutes,I was like what the heck. This bass boat guy was throwing one of those big hunks of metal with two spinner blades,it made lots of noise when it hit the water.I dont know what is up.last year I was doing well, with some good fish, this year only the skunk. That is my story. Fly chuckin for bass has been a low % game for me,I am going to keep on it.The top water should be heating up,I should get into fish soon with poppers and deer hair bass bugs.I will post again when i gt this dang stripe off my back. They don't call it fishing for nothing.
  14. lately I have been buying all white materials.have any of y'all tried to dye or color Ep fibers?Somethings I have tried with sharpies hinder the movement,I wanted to darken up some bunny strips,it still felt soft but when it got in the water it did not flow or move good,it made the hair stiffer and did not sink well.Any help would be great.I have not used EP fiber yet, but I am going to try some different stuff like kool-aid,sharpies,easter egg dye. I will post my findings and see what happens.
  15. well when I first started to tie I used the cheepy metal bobbins, after a bunch of flies it started to break my thread.so every so often I would get a new one.then I finely broke down and got a good one with a ceramic tube , and never looked back. Now the only time I break thread it is my fault.
  16. The best is whats is best for you.my buddy loves the nor-bobbin, however I do not,it is a pain for me.see if you can get to play with a few see what ya like. For me it is the Rite bobbin all the way.good luck on your quest.
  17. Yaks and tubes are fun, I have one of each. The tube, for me is better for fishing the lake that I fish.I have The Caddis Nav.II, It is an ok boat, I would like to get into the fish cat 4, much nicer boat.As far as yaks, I love them as well.me and my wife can cruz around all day and it is a blast. The thing about fishing out of my yak, there is is just too much stuff going on.You got a paddle and your rod in your hands. The wind starts pushing you around,I cant aim or get a good cast out.I dont know,as far as fishing for me,my tube gets it done. Some times I will tow my tube out with my yak to the far side of the lake and fish stuff that I cant kick to.Getting out on a yak or tube is one of the best ways to really enjoy your time on the water.
  18. My wife and I go shoping at the craft store.I started looking around, there is stuff you can use.feathers, zap a gap, craft fur, foam, beading wire for articulated flies, ect. every time I go in there I find something that gets my creative juices flowing. It is worth a look.
  19. Nice poppers, what is the pour foam you are talking about,is it eazy to get?I make my poppers out of balsa but trying something else.I dont really want to by pre made bodies.Once again lookin good
  20. Some of the best bbq I have had.
  21. I reuse my hooks. There's not a fly shop around my place, so if I need hooks I can find something in my old not fished flies, bad and crappy fly stash. It is easy and fast, with a sharp razor blade. I can always use more hooks.
  22. You are doing great for for your first try at this.Good work.
