What do you do for a living

Recommended Posts

I am currently the manager of a Speedy Muffler shop , i have been a technician in the army and also an auutomotive technician at both dealerships and independent shops. i am hoping to get out of the bustle and maybe move to teaching automotive apprentices at a local college (Can't beat the holidays!).

i have owned an automotive franchise and would do it again with a little more cash backup . Being your own boss rocks.. Ah.. that dream has to wait I now have a wife , a 2 year old and a 1 year old suffice to say that free cash is non existent now..

Here's to dreams

Cheers

Jon

Ran fishing dept in a local sporting goods store, assistant manager at a Barnes & Noble store, carpenter, welder, and heavy equipment operator...and that's in the last 10 years.

Now, I tie flies and am full time grandpa to a 16 month old.

I just started(in April) working for Embarq(formerly Sprint) out of Lima,OH. I guess you could call me a Central Office tech....or low man on the totem pole!! lol 7out of the 10 guys that work in my area/department have more than 35 years in service. and the 8th out of 10 has 26years!!! So I figure in about 5 years or so I'll be one of the top 3 :dunno: I work 3rd shift which....when I'm not busy...I get to enjoy some time on the vise. :headbang:

These threads are fun. I'm a paramedic manager and part time farmer, also write a little for some outdoors magazines. Not big money but a tax deduction for fishing trips! I guess life could be worse.

By the way Joe you are doing great - with your determination and positive attitude I have no doubt you will realise your dream. Good luck with it, you have been very courageous in my view.

Sorry Joe but its hard to post a pic of my work, I suppose my portrait will have to suffice.

I would rather do what you do and be able to build rods like you can than do what I do and not be able to build rods like I can. Did I get that right?
