"mystery box revival"

Recommended Posts

I received the reverse order box from Will. Don't have time to go through it right now. Going to try and get it done and out tomorrow. With the 3 day weekend it may not hit the mail until Tuesday. :(

The box hit the mail today. :) Be on the lookout aroostookbasser. It's headed your way.

Also, in the rush to get it out there was a mix up in the flies removed category, so I'm sending another package right behind it with some flies in it. Between my wife and I we took too many out. :dunno: basser, would you be so kind as to put the flies from the tin I'm sending into the Mystery Box. There are only a couple.

I plan to send the flies from the new tyers to cencalfly this weekend, which will be added to the regular "mystery box". I am sitting with some great flies from oldhat and chollo, rumor has it c.teeter will have his flies to me this week, then cycle 4 will up and running at the max.I will have the latest mailing sequence posted on the weekend.

Any interested new tyers will need to wait for a while , before the next cycle is up and running. My guess would be about 6 weeks.

With mother nature flexing her muscles, I hope you are all able to get back to a somewhat 'normal way of life." Here in californee, the much needed rain has eased up some.Last weekend there was a small earthquake centered close by, wasn't home, so didn't feel it. It was rated at 4.1, didn't cause any problems, such is life in the fast lane!!!

About a month from now, it will be my favorite tme of the year here. The fresh plant growth ,should be something else with the all the rain.

try to behave. have a good one

I received flies from c.teeter on saturday. I have flies from oldhat and chollo ,also. they are boxed and ready to mail to cencalfly to blend in with the cycle 4 "mystery box ", heading his way. you are going to be very happy with these new flies, what a nice variety from some talented tyers. I will post the new mailing sequence in a day or so. 2 of the new tyers are from oregon and the other is from missouri. the 'mystery swap" has tyers from all over the nation, sure makes for fly selection comparisons. outstanding job "mystery swappers"!!!

I sent a message to cheri, and she's interested in joining the next cycle. A differnt part of the country is heard from, she hails from arkansas.

hope all is going well for all of you. mother nature is still on a roll. should be getting some much needed rain, here in californee, in the next couple days. the local mountain peaks are covered with snow, some areas have over 6 feet of snow, the ski resorts are thriving, best conditions in years.

stay warm and dry, try to behave

Got the additional flies today Pat. Don't have the other box yet. When it gets here I let you know. Where is the regular order box?

Should get another 2 to 3 feet of snow tomorrow night in the Central Sierras. The snow pack we have going will make for some really good fall fishing. The spring and early summer might be rough with the melt though. The falls should be spectacular this year. :yahoo:

The regular box should be with aroosookbasser, coming to you next. I received a message from him last week, he is recovering from back surgery. Hope all is well with him.

I agree about the snow melt at yosemite, it should be spectacular. Read some information recently about big concerns at curry village with rock slide damages.

My wife and I are talking about a visit there this year, hope it works out.

I will post the new mailing sequence for the balnce of the regular swap of cycle 4 with the new additions.

have a good one

Amen to that.

aroostookbasser - Heal up soon, and I pray the surgery took care of the problem. Take it easy. No hurries on the box on my part, I just lost track of it.

Hey Pat, Another couple feet of snow fell overnight up at Huntington Lake. That makes it about 4 feet over the last 24 hours and its still going. Over 260 inches to date this year for that location. Even more has fell at the higher elevations and other locations along the Sierras. Yay snow pack!

many years ago, a buddy and I spent some time at shaver and huntington lakes. we did catch a few fish, nice areas.our local mountains and the sierras have so much snow this year, the scenery is going to be awesome.

even with the extra heavy rainfall and snowpack ,the water authorities are still saying drought conditions are still in effect!!!

the storm today, in this area, is dumping a couple feet of snow in the local mountains.mother nature is spreading the snow, in record amounts, all over the country. this has been some winter, so far.

stay warm and dry

Received an email from aroostookbasser this week, he is slowly recovering from serious back problems.he is now in a brace. He keeps apologizing , and definitely plans to get the boxes mailed out, soon . heres wishing him a speedy recovery. we want this " moose hunter" and mountain man up and running as soon as possible!!!

cencalfly will be sending "box #3" on its way very shortly. it is mainly flies made by the new tyers, cencalfly and I have added a few more flies, thought this would give the new tyers an idea what this swap is about.

appreciate your patience, and hope very shortly that cycle 4 gets back on track again. will keep you posted as best that I can. this has been some winter, mother nature continues to flex her muscles, and I bet some of you are still having problems with snow. this neck of the woods has gotten plenty of much needed rain, and the spring flowers and hillsides should be something else.

have a good one
