C LeBo 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2012 Hey everybody, This here is a little nymph that I always keep in my box. I know that it is basically just a pheasant tail variation, but man o man does this thing work, I always outfish my friends when they have a regular pheasant tail nymph on. I know it looks a little goofy, with the red floss, krystal flash, and peacock collar, but just tie a few and try it and you'll see why it's my "go to" fly. I also apologize for the poor photos, I am saving for a better lense. Hook: Curved Scud or caddis pupa hook of choice, size #12- 16 Thread: Brown or Red, 8/0 Bead: Gold Or Copper Tail: Pheasant Tail Fibers Body: Three sections of pheasant tail fibers and red floss Rib: Copper wire, small Thorax: Peacock Herl Shellcase: Pheasant tail fibers Sides: Gold or Copper Krystal Flash Collar: Peacock Herl Hope it catches you the next big one! Thank You, Carson LeBoeuf [email protected]
Wavey1988 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2012 Was mucking around with my materials, and created this pheasant wing streamer thingy , it's on a size 12 short shank hook, olive hares ear dubbing, fine silver tinsel rib and black palmered hackle, and fibres from a primary feather, folded, then separated for the wing
vrentropy 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2012 I was just wondering, can anyone get in on the fly pictures? I sure hope so, cause here is my go-to nymph. Especially in the spring. I call it the Faux Bead Head Dogs-butt (FBHDB) but it is just a Hare's Ear with my own touches. Don

FlyFishin'Jam 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2012 Wow some really nice patterns coming off the bench this month, mine are rather simple boring things in comparison! Picked up a new large box to fill, has a pretty bonefish on it. My version of a sparkle minnow, similar to the whitebait i posted a while back but with a marabou tail for extra action Needed a better image of this, it is a glorified dubbing brush clouser which i have caught all sorts of fish on, it's enchanted and my 'lucky fly' Thought i would get a better image of the pink comets, finished off a dozen of each, this one is the large bead chain. And this is the small. *edit* forgot to add i will be swinging these on rivers like this in August...
Piker20 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2012 I especially like the first two. Two more off the vice tonight. A blue zulu or is it a red tag variant. Doesn't matter much the sea trout love them

Piker20 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2012 Some flies tied with stretch cord and metallic thread from the craft store. Bit of red seal fur in a split thread for the head.
Kirk Dietrich 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2012 Piker, those little red head things look like the bream would eat them up, kind of like a little inch worm. Mike, those are great looking flies and photos. Hard to go wrong with marabou tails. Kirk
