flyfishtn 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2005 Interesting, might be a good chemistry project on those cold evenings, if it will ever stay cold here in TN
Wonder_Wax 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2016 Wonder Wax is back in production. Glen Overton has graciously allowed us to start up production. He has overseen the startup and production of his product line. No he is not dead. Thankfully he is alive and well and able to guide us through the setup and production. We are offering wonder wax for sale at https://blacktail-tackle.myshopify.com/products/overtons-wonder-wax Please go to our store to stock up on the best dubbing wax ever made. Coming soon we will be producing Glen's other products. Such as his fly line cleaner and conditioner, plus the best fly floatant ever developed. Buy it at: https://blacktail-tackle.myshopify.com/products/overtons-wonder-wax
flytire 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2016 after years and years of waiting for this product to return, its nice that its back but $20 for a tube of wax is a little steep for my wallet
SBPatt 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2016 Guess I'll have to treat the tube I bought back in the 90's with a little more respect. Regards, Scott
DrLogik 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2016 $20 dollars plus $8 dollars shipping for a tube of Wonder Wax? As much as I love Wonder Wax (I have three tubes) I'll have to pass unless I have a moment of weakness.....

No name or signature. Check out the link and do a small tour. Nothing filled out for the home page, blog, or about us sections. The only thing there is the Wonder Wax, for a not so low price. whatfly 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2016 One could make an awful lot of their own tying wax for $28. Plenty of premade alternatives if you do not want to mix your own that perhaps do not have the storied nearly mystical quality of Wonder Wax, but get the job done just fine. Best of luck with your new venture, but I will not be investing in a tube anytime soon. DrLogik: Site seems valid and you can pay through Paypal so not sure why one would be more suspicious than normal about this vendor...of course, I'm suspicious of all web based vendors as a rule. Kimo 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2016 This was Shane Stalcups favorite tying wax that he sold under his own label. He would melt it down and pour it it into his own pushup tubes.Kimo
Bruce Norikane 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2016 Lee check out FAOL, there's a recipe or two there from Marvin Nolte, I'm not sure on the patents, if commercial, you'd need to check that one for yourself. Roy Great tip. Here's the link to Marvin's recipe on Fly Anglers Online. He has separate recipes for tying wax, dubbing wax and finger wax. http://www.flyanglersonline.com/flytying/tyingtips/part139.php

vicente 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2016 I dabbed a little excess wax off of my toilet ring the other day (I used the extra tall ones there's excess coming out the bolt holes no poo on it) worked great, at a couple bucks a ring I can't imagine spending 28$ for the stuff. johnnyquahog 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2016 Just a quick update. Got my fresh, from the new batch, tube of Overton Wonder Wax in the mail today. It is not that amber color of my 30 year old tube but my initial impressions are very positive. Tight wraps
