From what I have been told, it was difficult to get the flies to stay in place.

I am thinking the flies staying in place wasn't as big a problem as stated. But I think I'd look for reasons reach in there and "re-position" the fly a couple of times or 20, too.

He needs to find tougher girls, some get those parts where the flies were balanced pierced. To bad he couldn't have found someone that would actually enjoy the pin prick of a hook point.
