So cool to see that slide show! You tie a mean fly! I can do an "ok" deer hair fly..NOTHING like that!! I assume you stack? or is that all spun?

They are lovely Rolsen. That body gives me a good idea for a heap of wolfhound hair I have been given.

 

Thanks Piker20, wolfhound underhair would do very nicely in these flies. FWIW, I tried Don Bastians method (well, surely not his, but it was on his video) in dubbing: Put wax on fingers, not thread, and forming the dubbing is so much easier.

I'm finding some great materials on the hounds of friends and colleagues. All free and never ending. The Husky hair is still my favourite. Like a cross of Hare and Icelandic wool.

Panfish Charlie ... is as close as I can come to what this fly resembles. Caught a bunch of sunfish and this shiner on one today.
