  1. Somehow I've missed this completely. What is Skill Builder 3 about?
  2. I don't sell flies and have never really even thought about it. I did however have a little craft business. Most of our sales were wholesale to the stores. We charged roughly 50% of the retail price. A few stores preferred consignment and paid us 78-85% of retail. Don't fly sales work the same way?
  3. I have never received a separate invoice for shipping. If I had I would have gladly paid it. I noticed on the original PayPal receipt there were no shipping charges and was expecting some kind of a notification about it. Funny how in the email I posted previously you were shipping "later today". The $90 bucks you can look at as my mistake, exchange on the dollar, etc brought up the $75 to a hair under $90 CND. This whole deal is not sitting well with me, could you please refund my money? Thanks. Done. Thanks for the prompt refund

  5. David I guess I'm a little ticked over the service I got from you. If I'm out the $90 I'm out the $90. I consider it a lesson learned. As far as calling you, I have called at least 3 times, and emailed more. Here is the last email I sent. Note that the date on your reply is Mar 5. I just don't feel I should have to be calling half way across the country to find out what is going on with my order. I've ordered dozens and dozens of things from the States both at work and personally. My prefered shipper has always been the USPS, I've never had a problem and always recieve my goods within 10 business days of being shipped, usually 5 to 7 days. They are truly a remarkable company. As it is now, I ordered the capes Dec 21 and still haven't seen them. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: RE: Receipt for Your Payment to The Feather Emporium Date: Thu, 5 Mar 2015 15:00:56 -0600 From: David Roberts <[email protected]> To: John Forish <[email protected]> No luck with any info from the post office. I'll be reshipping them later today. Keep your fingers crossed! 6. I glad to hear that someone gets good service. I ordered some Whiting hen capes before Christmas and still don't have them. I've emailed him 4 or 5 times and called him twice. Last note I got was that he was shipping them. That was about a month ago, and still don't have them. Not real impressed. All 3 were natural colors so dying time is not an excuse. It's looking like I'm out my 90 bucks.
  7. Wow! That is one sexy vice. Congratulations
  8. Got mine! I don't know how you do it. I thought the first issue was the best I'd ever seen, but every issue gets better. Keep up the great work!!
  9. You could try The Fly Box. (flybox.ca). His orders are prompt and his prices are good. Nice guy as well.
  10. Unbelievable. You keep raising the bar with every issue. Without a doubt the best magazine out there. Thanks to all who made it possible.
  11. I went to a junk store and picked up a working coffee grinder for 3 bucks. Works great. I've never used a new one but heard that the new blades will actually chop the material instead of just blending it.
  12. I've been using the Peak Rotary for just over a year now and would recommend it to anyone. I've tied sizes ranging from #16 drys to 4/0 Salmon streamers in the standard jaws and have never had one slip. I would also suggest getting the D-arm. "Terrific vise" John
  13. I think every reply given is a good one. The only thing that was missed is that in the new Hatches magazine there is a terrific article on dubbing and it's construction. John
  14. Incredible! I can't wait to see the entire set. That was an unbelievable amount of work and you have no idea how much it is appreciated. "Thanks guys" just doesn't seem to cut it. Thank you John
  15. Got one just like it. Worked great until I got my Peak. I tied thousand of bugs on it. Here I thought I was the only one in the world with one.
  16. I have a bunch of goat hair but haven't tried tying with it yet. I gave some to a friend who used it on Salmon patterns as an alternate to Polar Bear. He now swears by it. He claims it has the extra length needed for some patterns, and is easier to use.
  17. I'm a cabinetmaker/project manager. We do mainly architectural and marine millwork. My wife is a Special Need Student Assistant for the school board. New empty nesters when the last of the 3 boys went out on their own. Also have 1 granddaughter, a real sweetie.
  18. Thanks rockworm, That makes sense. I figured it had to be a terminology thing. I guess if he would have said, "Modern Floss", "Silk Floss" and "Silk Thread" I would have caught on. I will make sure to pick up and try the products you mentioned. Thanks again John
  19. I have been reading Ray Bergmans "Trout" for about the third time this year and have a dumb question. In the recipe section at the back of the book, I notice that he calls for "Floss" or "Silk" or "Silk Floss". I realize that Floss is a synthetic and Silk is (I guess) non plastic, but what is Silk Floss. Am I missing something or are they all totally different products. If so, "which" should be used "where". Thanks
