  1. Here is one of the pattern's i have tied so far.
  2. Here are some of the flys that i have been tying lately
  3. I want to start fishing for bass next year and I'm wondering what are the best bass pattern's to start tying.I have done some popper's and some large bunny leech's so far but would like some ofter idea's. I will post some picture's of the fly's that I have tied later on today. Thanks
  4. Great looking poppers, I tied a few last year but did'nt get a chance to fish them at all.Are you using metal or wooden dowel's to paint the spots on your bodies and what kind of paint are you using.
  5. I like the magnum and the regular the best so far but I have'nt used the micro ones yet. The crosscut one's seem to work the best for rapping the bodies on bunny leech's(at least for me). After reading about Flytyingfreak's muti coloured zonker's I think I'll be giving the micro strip's a try.
  6. I cary a little bit of both but tend to fish the bubby fly's more often, the realistics do look cool but I like the extra movement in the really buggy fly's.
  7. Very nice wet fly selection there beadhead they look great, I always have problems with getting the wings to sit just right.
  8. I've been tying some size 22 royal wolfs, size 14,16 soft hackle's and some rabbit strip leech's. I dont have any pic's yet but will post as sone as I do.
  9. I dont use wax when I'm dubbing just a little spit to get things going.I think the problem your having is because your using to much dubbing at once, try to thin down the amount you use at one time.Another thing to try is to colour match your thread this will allow you to use less dubbing with out showing the thread(ie:green thread - green dubbing). One other factor to consider is the type of dubbing that you are using they are not all created equal.
  10. Another great looking wet fly.
  11. Great looking nymph and a very nice tie well done
  12. Great looking streamer, I'll be adding some of those to my box for next year.
  13. Looks great should catch lots of fish.
  14. Nice looking fly's keep up the good work. The best way to improve your tying is to tie lots of flys, pic a pattern you like and tie at least few dozen. If possible try to do some tying every day if you can, it keeps fly tying fresh in the brain.
  15. Out here in B.C I hardly use anything under size 18 and even that is rare but after seeing the fly tying contest I have decided to try and tie some size 22 royal wolfs. After a few try's they turned out not to bad I will keep practiceing through the winter and try some next year on some of the local rivers.I havent been able to find any 32's at the local fly shop but I think it would be fun to try and tie some different pattern's on 32's
  16. I have one of the Tiemco curved bobbins and it works great i use it more than any of the other bobbins i have.
  17. My favorite tying material's are : 1 pheasant tail (I go through ton's of it) 2 Any kind of dubbing ( mostly seal hair and ice dub) 3 Whiting's pro grade hackle's
  18. Great looking Nymphs, I'll be adding some of those to my box very soon.
  19. That's one great looking tying table you made there,I wish i had one of those under my tree.
