Ya silk is tops, but don't use it on fishing flies, it will eventually break down. You can also use mono which doesn't look bad either.

What are you using for your eye? I think you'll find 25lb dacron will look a lot better

I'd say I'm pretty good, only things that really annoy me are tying off parachutes and spinning deer hair so that I get a uniform shape out of it.

Looks pretty good, wings don't look overlapped but maybe a little uneven to one side, maybe that's just my eyes though

Ya they're meant for bait fishing, but I've used them for egg patterns and they work fine. What I like is I can get them in bulk pretty easily. I have very limited experience with spiders and was just wondering if you guys would say the bend looks right.

Sounds like you could take a large number of flies and put them in the sun for a few minutes, flip then wait another 3 min

Just order online, as mentioned you won't get the effect you want with belly hair. It's also very stiff so there won't be much movement, you could use other hairs like racoon, skunk, or fox but those are harder to find than bucktail.
