You could rejuvenate the old Dell by maybe installing window 7 depending how old it is I would not install Windows XP since Microsoft will no longer be supporting that operating system Take your laptop in to a local pc shop or wherever you bought it and have them diagnose your system and fix it Hard to recommend a fix on a bulletin board

why not tie one up and post it?

have you tried the primitive Ctrl-V function to PASTE or the Ctrl-C to COPY after I copy something I cant use the right mouse button to PASTE have you also checked your browsers "Internet Options" to ensure all your settings are correct? spending money to correct a problem that may or may not get fixed is kind of silly to me. adding additional RAM doesn't make sense when you have a copy-paste issue however I do hope you can get this resolved in your favor

arent you going a little extreme regarding your initial question? I do not know if it is just me but I can't copy, paste, or post pictures or links on this site

from the interweb The Ancestral Adams "I got my first look at a real Halladay Adams in the late 1970s at the American Museum of Fly Fishing, and it was a little shocking. The original fly looked — to be painfully blunt, and intending no compliment to either Halladay or me — like I had tied it myself. The body was thick, even lumpy. Both the tail and the hackle were significantly oversized and bushy. The wings were about three-quarters spent and also oversized. (Halladay tied the wings both upright and spent.)" http://midcurrent.com/history/the-adams-a-great-salesman/

"In all fairness, Bazzer's tie does represent one variation described as the original dressing many times over the years." absolutely correct

"Flytier. I too have had the video problem. If I go with Explorer to browse instead of Windows 8 I can't get videos. I was told this is because the software to run them is either outdated or doesn't exist. I think it is an Adobe problem. Might pass that on to your employer." for National Security reasons my employer does not allow employees to mess around with their PC's. its best to leave well enough alone for whatever reason, our security department has decided to no longer use adobe products on their network

you cannot add a photo directly from your computer using the cut/copy and paste function directly in the response area you can add an photo from your computer as an attachment directly into the response area you need to click on the "more reply options" button in the lower right hand area below the response area.

at home, I have window 8 on a laptop and use the chrome browser. seems to work just fine for me however, at work (major defense contractor), we have windows 7 and internet explorer 11. we cant get videos, photos (only some of the time), I cant edit a post if I screw it up , cut and paste is iffy etc our security department blocks a lot of websites such as blogs, you tube, entertainment etc. sites that could let in a virus of some kind that might infect thousands of computers so my suggestion would be to learn windows 8 and use a different browser. "Windows 8 sucks ... and it will not work with the Honda Diagnostic Systems for Marine applications." I think it might be the other way around. the application you refer to may not have been updated to run in the window 8 environment

What does a true Cree hackle look like?

from the denny Conrad link on page 1 "My advise to the fly tier that wants to tie with Cree, is to purchase with caution. If you are willing to pay extra for a color that someone may or may not have labeled correctly, it's your money. I seriously doubt if anyone would ever find a Cree on E-Bay or hanging in a local shop. True Cree are almost always sold before the brokers get their hands on them." -

isn't how it looks wet to a fish more important than how it looks like dry to fisherman?
-
ill take another dozen since most of the flies shown in the link below has the collar extending to about the hook point/barb, I think your fly is just fine https://www.google.com/search?q=cone+head+muddler&biw=1200&bih=628&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=dU8ZVM2HEMSSyAS1tYKwAg&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ you mentioned your concern about the turkey tail and wing slips so you know what should be done there

how i perceived and tied the fly from the flyer above how i tie the adams with a mix of brown and grizzly hackle i think today's universally accepted standard hackle is mixed brown and grizzly for the tail and front hackles. cree and the barred gingers are also universally accepted short cuts to tie an adams (variant) some tyers may struggle with wrapping 2 front hackles and that's OK. that's when the cree and barred gingers can be helpful museum quality flies - use the real thing fishing flies - use whatever you want teaching fly tying - teach using the universally accepted recipes but also teach about using substitutes and variations -

i leave a short length of bare stem and wrap hackles by hand. that gives me the opportunity to manhandle the feather into a good position to wrap forward -
