TSMcDougald 0 Report post Posted September 1, 2023 I watched several videos on tying the Jock Scott (one was tying the body and the second finished the fly) since I am not that familiar with tying Classic Salmon Flies. The tier said it normally took 3-3.5 hours to tie a Jock Scott correctly. Fascinating to watch. SalarMan 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2023 The time frame for me is about the same as Bruce. I often do part of the fly and then might not go back to it for days. I'm just not the type to sit at the vise for however many hours at a time anymore. I suppose if I gave it a go I could do a classic in a day...but that wouldn't be any fun for me and I want it to be a pleasure not a chore.
