flytyer56 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2007 Wooley Buggers work for me. Try Olive, Black and Purple.
utyer 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2007 Two that work well for me on both Salmon and Steelhead. They are tied with pheasant tail and diamond braid. Use chartreuse, pink and orange braid; and natural, and purple PT.
fishaholic69 0 Report post Posted October 12, 2007 looks good
willowhead 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2007 Two flies work real well there. Black Stonefly imitations, and Purple Wolley Buggers. An egg pattern is just to lowly for any self respecting fly angler to use. mark
mwtroubum 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2007 probably a little late...have no pics, but I have good luck with a skykomish sunrise and a larger purple prince nymphs

VERN-O 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2007 colors aren't that important...for salmon and steelies you want to vary the colors frequently......if you're still working for your first steelie....I would suggest some estaz eggs and some small nymphs for this time of year (with the water temps dropping, the fish tend to be less likely to chase a big fly down).....if I were you I would start off swinging the comets and if nothing produces....go smaller and start throwing glo bugs or estaz eggs your comets look good too....nice job
