I've been experimenting with tying in rubber legs on Copper Johns and Pheasant Tails. I'll take a few pictures tonight and post them. Rubber legs sure don't make tying any easier! <_<

ok guys, here is a freestyle fly i tied the other day, i dont know if i like it all that much or not, regardless, here it is, i lost a fly box with over 180 flies in it and now i have to fill up a new one so excuse my lack of posts lol :wallbash:

Hey...not bad, Brian. To me, the main thing that jumps out is your tippet wing is uneven. I think

if you could get it tied in even and coax it (Z-bend) so that the bottom edge follows the line of the body it

would look much cleaner. Your woody sides would have gone on much better as well, and you wouldn't have that cup.

Nice job on the tag and tail and your floss work looks nice and smooth. Lots to be proud of.

Have you tied any of the classics? Many recommend working on those at first, as opposed to freestyle, so

you'll have a point of reference. Regardless, hope you keep at it.

thanks mike, yes i do mainly ddo classics, but i was bored and didnt feel like pulling one of my books out and searching for a pattern to tie lol :headbang:

They don't look too bad. However I would make the thorax larger and less thread at the head of the flies.
