My flies are finally done , I'll be mailing them 1st thing tomorrow morning.

Sorry for the delay folks, I struggled tying my first steelhead hairwing, but gave it my best shot.

Not entirely happy with the results, I guess I've got to start somewhere :huh:

My rendition of a red ant

Hook = Black magic 6# salmon hook

tail= red pheasant neck/tippets

tag= fine 16# flat silver mylar tinsel

butt= peacock herl spun in a dubbing loop

underbody= white Danville's flat waxed nylon

overbody 2 layers of red Danville's flat waxed nylon

hairwing=brown calf tail

Hackle= in front of hairwing/soft hackle collar = Wild Grouse
