Bryan Wright 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2010 Where is the best place to buy hooks? I want to tie on barbless hooks but don't want to buy them in tiny packs that I pay a ton of money for. I would rather pay 20 bucks get a good assortment with a good range in sizes (I don't need gigantic hooks) and a good number in the pack.

JSzymczyk 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2010 I know this sucks, but it's not easy to get what you're looking for. Don't worry about barbless, just get what you can and pinch down the barbs.
notenuftoys 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2010 A variety pack is something a manufacturer should jump on. I'd love something like that.

Thanks for the link. By the way this would be considered research. I have looked through a lot of sites before asking here but asking here is definately part of my research. Habanero 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2010 Lightning strike hooks by Wapsi has some of the better Multi packs that I have seen. The link below will take you to one place that I have found them. There are other places that carry these I think. I am in agreement that this should be something that is more readily available. Guest Report post Posted October 30, 2010 I'd take the Togens deal for a 1000 mixed hooks, They're decent hooks, The only difference is they're not as dark a bronze as other brands but not a deal breaker. Fatman
agn54 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2010 This place has some really cheap prices on hooks, although the selection is limited: http://www.captainhookswarehouse.com/
rockworm 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2010 It used to be you could buy hooks in bulk (say, 1000) for a fraction of the cost (per hook) you pay for smaller quantities. I have bought Mustad hooks like this and saved big bucks. Can hooks still be bought in bulk? If so, maybe those of us who are interested could make a group purchase and divide the hooks according to our needs. I would certainly be interested if we were talking about quality barbless dries or barbless wets. I wonder if this site's sponsor could give us a deal on Tiemcos or Daiichis by the thousand.
