Crackaig 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2012 Friday the 11th January is the opening day on the River Helmsdale. The opening is marked by 4 days of free fishing. Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. (For some reason there is no fishing on Sundays. A hold back from pre enlightenment days, the enlightenment still hasn't caught on here.) So with free fishing here, on water you just will not get on any other time, who's coming? There is also a prize for the first springer. Images from last years opening. Cheers, C. Any hairs act like rubber legs... add that enticing movement.

Might be what he calls it. Helmsdale in January can be a little chilly, a friend of mine often claims he trips up over his - even he couldn't find it at last years opening. Its the prise for the first fresh spring fish that is caught and released. As well as your name on that crystal trophy. Cheers, C.
