Will K 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2013 I have fun fishing more complicated versions like some euro nymphing versions or like a mcphail pupa or similar... but in the end, I dont think any has caught more fish for me than a simple #14-16 nymph hook 3/4 olive or cream dubbing, 1/4 black or brown dubbing (head end). I "want" a more complicated one that works better than that simple little fly... but so far, I cant find it. I like to tie the more complicated ones for the fun of it, and it's fun to fish pretty flies... but in the end, that super simple fly that's basically a two toned dubbed shank works best for me. Prosopium w. 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2013 You cant beat a Lafontaine deep or emergent sparkle pupa. I use his body style with a short soft hackle collar.
