Markbob 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2014 I have been experimenting with different things for parachute posts, except foam, I can't bring myself to like the look of a foam post, anyhow, I was wondering if anyone had tried EP fibers for a post? Seems like it could be a good material and I have a ton of them.

atxdiscgolfer 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2014 I havent but it seems like it would be the expensive route
Markbob 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2014 Well, I could understand it being expensive except that I already have a large box full of them that I do not use for a whole lot. Especially the white.
Lightline 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2014 Its been done, and works really well. Boots Allen at Snake River Angler in Jackson, WY ties a series of emergers/cripples using EP for a wing too. (Booty's) Try 'em!
planettrout 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2014 Try these from EP...it may be used for posts or winging... http://www.epflies.com/estore/products/4893 PT/TB
JSzymczyk 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2014 so then if you have a "ton" of them, give it a try.... A couple of para posts wouldn't dent your collection.
Bryon Anderson 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2014 EP works well for parachute posts and wings on dries. Dennis Potter uses them in a lot of his patterns.
Jaydub 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2014 I've used Congo hair, which is about the same, and it works fine. Tip: pull out the amount of fibers needed for a post and melt one end together with a lighter. Then you have a convenient hank that can be used for several posts.
