What do you guys think of this one, size 16 tail Congo hair 1 stand of crystal fish, body is stripped peacock herl and spun deer hair for the thorax wings are para post. I've been having fun trying to spin and stack small deer hair flys this last week or two.

Hi vicente,

It's very nice, but the deer hair part looks funky to me. It looks solid where there should be spaces between the hair. To show what I mean, I tied one up in the same size. I had to use some slightly different brand materials, but they're pretty close to what you have on yours. Hitting the deer hair with some steam and re-trimming would have made this a little better looking. I like playing around with deer hair too.

Regards,

Mark

Two clumps of Congo hair and two clumps of dubbing? Looks great. Quick and easy too.

Almost. No Congo, but Fuzzy Fiber trimmed quite a bit.

My vote, too, for that fly, Bimini. I really like how the hook bend out lines the "body". That's a fry that even a mother would eat !!!

At the ca coast for a few days, this is the stomach of a surf perch we caught, so I tied these baitfish up to try tomorrow, just wish I hadn't neglected to bring my fly rod.
