SBPatt 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2018 Preska Sedge Saw this pattern mentioned on another forum; did an interweb search and found it in Pequegnot's French Fishing Flies: Patterns and Recipes for Fly Tying. Original called for condor or eagle quill body, neither of which is legal in the U.S. so I subbed biot. Note the wings are tied in vertical orientation, Killer-style. hook Dai Riki 300 #10 thread - Danville 6/0 brown body - turkey biot dark brown wing - brown mallard breast hackle - brown Preska Sedge (variation?) Based on this link https://www.theflyfishingforum.com/forums/flies/330089-fly-will-catch-fish-2.html the wings are a pair of pheasant rump feathers tied tent-style; same name, different look. hook Dai Riki 300 #10 thread - Danville 6/0 brown rib - small tinsel gold body - dubbing hare's ear wing - pheasant rump hackle - brown Regards, Scott

chugbug27 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2018 Hey Scott, I really like that second Preska sedge... But woweezowee, I followed your link to your posting/s on faol and then your "SBS Index" link. That index of your SBSs -- 880 or so organized by type of fly and what if anything it imitates, it's just a superb body of work.
