Ekucolonel17 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2019 Im usually just a looker, but I cant seem to get the back right on my humpys. To me it looks like it keeps wanting to wrap around the sides. Ive tried to hold it up while tying in, loosely wrapping, etc. If anyone has any advice Id greatly appreciate it.

Ive tried to hold it up while tying in, loosely wrapping, etc. If anyone has any advice Id greatly appreciate it. After I tie the deer hair in I give It a slight twist (in the direction you're wrapping - gathers deer hair and makes it easier to seat it properly on top of the hook), pull forward and tie down at 2/3 mark; trim butts Regards, Scott
Capt Bob LeMay 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2019 Another method (one that's worked for me) with hair that wants to work around the hook is to simply make a pass with the thread completely around that bundle of hair (encircle it...) before the next pass with your bobbin goes around the hook shank at your tie in point.... Experiment with it a bit before trying it out and you might find it works pretty well... Hope this helps
