  1. Nope! Aroud here the just stop the truck on a bridge and dump them over the side.
  2. Nice fly. I tie one that's similar but after tying in the tail, I make a marabou rope and wrap it forward. Usually have to do some trimming, but it works pretty well.
  3. It's not too far away. Try this link. http://maps.yahoo.com/#q1=Gatlinburg%2C+TN&q2=Townsend%2C+TN&lat=38.44777174658948&lon=-95.23234605789184&zoom=11&mvt=m&trf=0
  4. Just posted a new popper pattern to this forum. Now the only way I can find it is to search my member name in the pattern database. Even then there is no photo material list or tying instructions. Not sure what happened or what to do. It's called the Rolled Foam Popper.
  5. I've heard that Waspi sells a pretty good starter kit.
  6. Would that be true for all wild rabbits or just the Patagonian ones?
  7. Both. Most great Anglers are Fly Fishers. :headbang:
  8. I live about an hour away from Wolf Creek Dam. I usually ride down every couple weeks or so year round. Most of my success has been with basic patterns, Pheasant Tails, Hare's Ears, and Prince Nymphs occasionally. All bead head. Montana Stones are also very effective in the winter. Small Thread Midges work well. I also make sure to take Wooly Buggers in black and also, olive with a small bunch of orange marabou under the tail. Befor you go, check the flow on http://www.tva.gov/lakes/wch_r.htm If you get there and the river is too high to wade you can also wade up Hatchery Creek and catch some fish. So it won't be a wasted trip. Plus you can catch some nice ones there in the winter.
  9. I agree, I bought my Danvise in Jan. and I love it, no problems yet. The vise and the extention arm were about $100 total from jstockard.
  10. Looking at a pair of Redington Wayfarer wading boots. Does anybody have a pair? Are the worth the $50?
  11. What area do you live in? That may help you get more advice an what patterns to tie.
  12. They also made shotguns. My buddy used a J.C. Higgins pump for rabbits until a couple years ago.
  13. Either olive with black hackle or black. Always with a gold bead.
  14. INDEED!!! LOVE THAT FREEDOM!!!
  15. Don, If you're just learning to tie you should tie some larger patterns as well. This will help you learn how the materials work and how they should be tied on. Just remember, you can't go wrong with a size 8 Wooly Bugger. Also, Griffiths Gnat is often overlooked because of its simplicity. But, it is easy to tie, It can be tied very small, and at times can be very effective. Hope this helps a little. AJ
  16. Well they havent hurt my wifes dumbass cat yet.
  17. I'm going to the Smokys in mid July. I'll mainly be fishing Bradley Fork and Chasteen Creek. I've never fished this area. Any pattern suggestions?
