  1. List is updated with flies from vicrider, wmw4, and djh262 Everything looking good!
  2. This is similar to the way I tie most of mine. Contrast catches fish.
  3. Is there such a thing as a micro mop fly?
  4. Vicente, yours came already and they look even better in person!
  5. Sounds good vicente, FRN got yours thanks
  6. Sent address to all swappers that will be needing it, and I think one that already had it haha
  7. Looks like it fits the bill to me
  8. I tied my first fly a few days before my second son was born, which was just over 3 years ago. I got away from fishing for a while focusing mainly on hunting, the transition from spinning gear to fly gear was a process in its own, but tying is now a hobby it's own from the others. Eide I don't know if I believe 5 yrs could produce the technical quality you consistently post. Stabgnid open invitation to Erie PA. Good amount of access for most anything you want, perch to steelhead depending on season.
  9. atxdiscgolfer, yours arrived much appreciated
  10. flygirl yours arrived nice pattern I plan to copy
  11. Idaho RC I got your flies today Thanks for kicking it off with a fantastic set of EHC
  12. I put you down Vicrider, thanks for filling the last spot. Dorado is also planning on tying that pattern, but it is fine with me to have another which will surely be somewhat different anyway Swap is FULL flygirl, your inbox may be full
  13. I thought the main culprits were dermestid beetles, which as the name suggests, infest and destroy any natural material with the skin or hide still there.
  14. Thanks vicente, OK just 1 spot left, need someone to tie an emerger or pupa
  15. Dorado, that's a classic I've never actually tied. You're in. Need 1 larva and 2 pupa/emerger guys!
  16. For splitting the tails, I have been starting the thread, and leaving the tag on as I wrap back. Tie in tail fibers and lift the tag, splitting them. Pull the tag tight and wrap it when you like it. Anyone else do this? Can't recall where I saw this, probably a youtube
  17. OK gotta you all Adult forms are filled Yes partridge and peacock to me imitates a caddis more than any other insect
  18. Here is a swap idea for a life cycle of anything in the order Trichoptera, aka Caddisflies. This should give everyone a few flies for each stage, covering most situations. Although we could do a full swap for each stage over a few months, I would rather do a couple different types of bugs. (Mayflies next time) Due Date will be March 1st This swap will have 4 spots open for each stage of the life cycle of the caddisfly. Each swapper ties 12 and I will do an adult also so everyone gets 4 of that stage for sure. SWAP IS FULL! A. Larva -1. Atxdiscgolfer Received -2. flygirl Received -3. djh262 Received -4. vicente Received B. Pupa or Emerger -5. wmw4 Received -6. Dorado Received -7. Wetsock Received -8. Vicrider Received C. Adult -9. Idaho RC Received -10. carpflyguy Received -11. Flat Rock Native Received -12. fishingbobnelson Received -(SM)
  19. Dang forgot about the holiday and I didn't get to the po friday. They will go tomorrow
  20. Does your thin skin have a backing? Some include a stiffer backing for easier cutting. I doubt that's it but just throwing it out there. Though your fly is not what you want, it is sure to produce under the right conditions. Yours is a good deal brighter green, and I think you want a little more natural muted olive color overall. I agree to use something from the turkey for a wing case. I like darker wing cases for contrast on flies like this.
