They feed on mollusks, snails, crawdads, damsel flies, dragon flies, beetles, etc. Suggested patterns in Carp on the Fly are: Clouser Swimming Nymph Bead Head Prince Nymph Woolly Bugger Rubber Legged Hare's Ear Nymph Barr's Damsel Fly Barr's Dragon Fly Nymph Bead Head Stonefly Nymph Befus' Wiggle Bug Barr's Bead Head Fup Midge Larva San Juan Worm Griffith's Gnat Callibeatis CDC Biot Mayfly parachute emergers spinners hoppers dandelion thistle seed mulberry fly cottonwood seed ants spiders crawdads - small 'dads scuds scuplin minnow patterns I have landed one on a pheasant tail nymph.
