madkasel 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2006 Thank God this thing finally filled up before the temptation to join in grew too strong. I just can't get into another swap, yet. This fall and winter, I'll be in all of 'em, though! Just way far behind on nymphs and a few other things, and still too slow a tier.
Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2006 Excellent guys, we got a full swap now Threader- yup you got it man, any size you want to tie up will work.
Don Stracener 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2006 steeldrifter, Alright... Was going to tie some up on 4/0 or 5/0 stainless. But the last swap I did some 3/0 for ocean and they looked like Godzilla next to everyone else's. Over here on the west coast, Oregon, not California, we use 2/0 and 3/0 for the Bottom fish. A lot of times they will school on the top and we can get some good ones, 5-8 lbs on flies. How about a size 4 in a 4x long? Can you guys use that size? Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2006 Size 4-4XL is is actually what I tie 90% of my streamers on for both trout and smallmouth threader. So that size works for me
Nealbo 0 Report post Posted May 21, 2006 Work good for bass. Can I send two differents types of wolly buggers.
Don Stracener 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2006 Picked out a pattern this morning, The Golden. Streamer fly from England that's good for Rainbow and Brookie's. Had good luck with it on Bass and Steelhead.

Don Stracener 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2006 steeldrifter, So where do we send the flies when they're done? They're done...
Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2006 You'll be sending them to Fly Time. I'm just keeping this swap updated till he gets back online (which should be soon). I dont have his address, so just hold on to them for a day or two Threader and I'm sure Fly Time will be checking in on this post soon and supply his mailing address.
