Mr. Vegas 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2010 I really don't have anything to show off but as I have been getting into tying more and more I have got really interested in the history of it and want to see what you have from fly tying past. Granted I have a lot of old hooks from the 60's but most likely nothing compaired to what you have stashed away

British mike 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2010 Here are a few vintage tying tools.......... A rare brass tying vice, no makers name but believed to be about 1890. I keep it in a glass case to protect the patena on the brass, sorry for the flash reflection. An early British bobbin holder ( remember early tyers did not have luxuries like these in fact when I started tying I read early books and no bobbin holder was used. A length of waxed thread was held in place during the tying process with a small rubber button fixed to the vice stem or table) Also an early brass hackle plier dated around 1900's Hope you like the bit of history Happy holidays Mike...................... mvendon 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2010 Here's just one that I have that came from an old UK collection. Don't let the plastic date it either, since just about everything was packaged in these now brittle sleeves . Regards, Mark
