Fly Tying

I use a loop to loop connection. Leader changes are quick and simple. I also use loop to loop to the backing.

Perfection Loop.

Go to Ainimated Knots On Line.

Connect the Leader loop to the Fly Line loop with a Handshake connection.

You're gonna get a thousand different answers, but if you're talking about fresh water, it doesn't matter all that much. A surgeon's loop in a short, heavy butt section will handle just about any situation that's apt to come up. I agree with Ditz about loop-to-loop connections. They save a lot of fumbling around in the field, and I use them whenever possible.

I looked at this post because of the header ... "Fly feline to leader".

And to answer THAT question, I just have to lay a piece of leader material on the floor. All three of my felines can't resist playing with that almost invisible piece of string.
