FlyTieDad 0 Report post Posted May 1, 2013 I just found out an old friend retired. He does fly fishes but doesn't tie so I took it upon myself to make the ones pictured below. I'm still pretty new at it and most of these I've not tied before so I'm just hoping they hold together. Hmm.. Maybe now I shuld sit down and tie a few of these for myself. Chase Creek 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2013 I retired last October. Best retirement gift I got was my wife saying - "go fishing all you want, just keep the kitchen counter clean." No problem! We've been eating out a lot.
fshrmanms 0 Report post Posted May 3, 2013 four years ago I retired, loved my bass pro shop gift certificate; but best gift is making a new friend when I surprise a stranger on the water with a few flies/poppers. I'm sure your friend will be thankful for the flies.
Rocco 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2013 My BFFF retired a few yeas ago. He is an engineer who is eminent in his specialty field and has a tendency to drive home his points with withering caustic logic -- thus, his much treasured nickname "60 Grit". I had a hip flasc so engraved for him and he carries it to this day to ward off the deep chill of wading early spring steelhead rivers. Rocco
