April Flies from the Vice

It's ok. I won't be casting it!

The wool was treated to shed water so hopefully will not hold much.

If I were tying for my own use I'd use far more synthetics for exactly that reason.

This is one of my favorite march brown soft hackle patterns. It has been very successful over the years and it's a very simple tie. The other is a little caddis pattern. The hackle is natural grey rabbit spun in a dubbing loop. I call it the "middle aged caddis" for the touch of grey.

Ok, first attempt at a intruder, a bit big, but I can see this swinging in the river (maybe in a bit smaller variant). Here on a 35mm waddington shank.
