Bimini15 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2016 OK then, I guess... As long as it wasn't light pink/salmon, like the ones I wear... I am landlocked for a while. I am going through withdrawal and the thought of that bass on a popper is giving me the shivers. Maaaan...!
mikechell 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2016 Nice bass ... great looking shoreline behind him, too. No such luck for me, on the St. Johns. Another day of catching tiny fish. If I was catching for food, I could keep them and have a mess ... of little bits. Just having a hard time finding the big uns.
Swamp Fly 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2016 Mike, around the Melbourne area I always had trouble finding bigger bream this time of year on the St. Johns. Water was usually over the banks and the fish went with it.
mikechell 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2016 Not this year, Swamp. River's a little low, pretty close to normal. But the water temps are up. It is truly the "dog days of Summer". Just fishing the wrong part of the river. Next weekend, I'll be back in my favorite stretches and we'll see how it goes.
caloosa bug 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2016 Caught some beautiful slabs today with zip. We had a blast running around the south west side of the lake. Good mess of slabs bluegill, a couple shellcrackers, with some healthy 10-15 inch bass mixed in. It's been great meeting up and we'll have to do it again.
