Bimini15 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2016 This is a finesse fly for what I am used to. Respectfully submitted, all opinions welcome.image.jpeg I am not sure what you call finesse fishing. To me, finesse fishing is super small, super quiet and stealthy. That fly is going to land with some splash, push a lot of water with that collar and get slammed by some hungry (large) predator!!! Not very "finesse-y" at all !!! It is finesse tying to me. More elaborate than usual in a smaller hook than usual. I ended up cutting the collar too. We will see.. mikechell 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2016 It's because I've left the barbs on isn't it Might be subliminal for me. I don't actually notice if the barb is there, but my subconscious automatically bumps it up a notch or two.

Tied on a tiemco 2488 size #22 Yeah it's certainly an interesting pattern. I'll be trying this too, just right now I'm into poppers, hoppers and Mahogany Duns. Have fun ! Mike West 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2016 Deer Hair Spook...I think..not tested yet. I don't know about it being a "Zara Spook" copy, since I abhor the thought of tying a fly to mimic a lure. That's like painting a picture of another picture. On the other hand ... I LIKE this fly. Great bait fish pattern. Lot of work tying that ... and some big fish is going to destroy it on the first good bite you get. I just called it that because I've been working on something that will do that "Walk the Dog" action. It has some lead in the rear end.I think the next one I'll try and shape it more like a real Spook and turn down the eye Elusive,.....I like Bruce, Nice tie
