Mike West 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2016 I like it! The Woolly Worm was 1st fly I learned to tie and yours are the same except the tail, I always used red or orange saddle hackle barbels. The Peacock was my 1st and it's still a confidence fly for me...I prefer the woolly worm over the woolly bugger. I was just thinking about tying some the other day cause I only have a couple left. mikechell 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2016 Final two days of the month. I was busy last week. But I did get the flies tied that I wanted for this trip to Houston. I only got pictures of the poppers, so far ... the other three patterns tomorrow, if I can get good pictures. Flip flop foam bodies, ready for the hook. A little FTD Congo Hair for bulk in the water, and Dollar Tree feather boa fluff. Add body and ... the Fluffy Popper!

Byron 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2016 Reviewing Gary LaFontaine's great video on some of his most famous caddis flies and thought I would use UV pearl dubbing fibers to add a bit more sparkle to his sparkle pupa pattern.

mikechell 0 Report post Posted November 1, 2016 Final two days of the month. I was busy last week. But I did get the flies tied that I wanted for this trip to Houston. So where are you fishing at?Do you have family, friends, private water or are you just winging it on public water? Public water. But I am fishing small creeks (gulleys ... bayou ... whatever they call them here) that don't get a lot of pressure because no one thinks there's fish in them. I'll have a video from tonight's trip up a little later. Here's the other three patterns I tied up. My go to "Panfish Attractor". This is the one I tied to be weedless (hook up) before I ever even thought about looking for patterns on the net. Then I found out, once i got into this site, that there were already patterns out there like it. My Pearl Minnow. Probably, also like someone else's pattern ... but I just threw these together in a hotel room last year, and I really like them. And the Wooley Bugger. I only started tying these recently ... haven't fished them much, yet. I tied a few of these with squirrel tail tails. Of course, this weekend, I hope to be fishing Toledo Bend, while at the IFFF get together.
