TheCream 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2016 Cream, What are making the feet and ears out of? Almost looks like some kind of silicone product. Kiley's Mice Bitz. Pre-cut rubbery legs, tail, and ears.

Mike West 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2016 Tim England's Eel Worm Variants..I tie this with wool also. Tie them weighted and unweighted. Unweighted I usually use plastic doll eyes....weighted..solid plastic or living eyes. Very productive fly on a sinktip around structure or submerged weed beds...I usually have a couple boxes full of these in different colors and sizes on me at all times. Some with Saddle hackles for tails with flash or as shown with Zonker strips. These are tied on a Allen B200 #2 with the 1st 3/4 of the shank wrapped in ,025 lead. I forgot what a P.I.A. these are to tie. The deer hair on this is bright Chartreuse like the tail. This guy was supposed to have hackle through the body also but I whacked it off trimming the body...had to do a fix.
Kentuckysteve 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2016 Nice looking flies Mike.Spinning deer hair has never been my best talent. If i were to fish the weighted one's without a sink tip line...would the combo of deer hair and the lead allow them to suspend in the water or do they slow sink? Would be cool if they suspend at a certain depth.

Would be cool if they suspend at a certain depth. Thx and a lot of variables in that. How dense the deer hair is packed, how much weight, how water logged they are ect. Short answer is yes you can get them to suspend but it takes experimentation. I like to fish the floaters on a sink tip over submerged weed beds. Sink tip lays on the weeds fly floats, pull line fly dives then floats back up.

FlyMaker 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2016 Learning to tie the Danish Sea Trout Pattern "Brenda". Four distinct hackle placements rather than palmered hackle style. Ordered the correct Rainbow dubbing and meantime using AZ Semi-Seal blends. The smaller one is well chewed by three nice fish the first time I threw it in a local pond. A Bass, Brown and Bow took it in size #10.
