jamieofthenorth 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2020 Looks like a pretty easy tie and something that would be effective... might have to add this one to my "to tie" list.

Yea flytire’s two links will provide more info. I’m going to tie the simple one hook version and see how she does in Nov.. Funny as it is apparently a very under the radar old streamer. I bet it'll work great in waters where Mickey Finns are effective, given that it looks like a better dressed older brother of that fly. I may do the same with a single hook... articulated flies still scare me.

tidewaterfly 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2020 If anyone here would know anything about a fly like that, it would be Norm! 👍 I've tied a similar fly at times, when I didn't have dyed yellow grizzly, it an attempt to tie a Yellow Perch pattern. A blend of yellow and orange bucktail, with natural grizzly hackle over the bucktail produced a decent imitation. The "Yellow Perch Streamer" was one I learned about back when I was beginning to tie, and one I've used since for stream & river bass many times. That was my first thought when I saw the photo posted here.
