  1. Nice Ties Will have to tie a few Cascades and LT Specials for the upcoming season.
  2. Nice selection so far, this is my Swiss Master Vise
  3. I use a 7'9" 3w for trout, it works great, especially after cutting a couple of yards off of the WF line. I would consider lighter but not heavier for the trout I am fishing.
  4. Another vote for the Peak, it's a nice vise regardless of price.
  5. Great Thread! Really nice to see that you had recaptures, catch & release is paying off
  6. Mine made it today, great ties everyone! Thanks for hosting and thanks for the extra hooks
  7. I received the flies yesterday, nice ties everyone Thanks for hosting!
  8. I like it as well, looks like a nice pattern! The eye of the hook seems a bit crowded, but that can be a personal preference. Have you tried it yet? I suspect it would fish well
  9. Nicely worded. CCG/Brian I have PM'd you, interested in a product/container combo that is not currently listed on the website.

  12. Johnny I am currently interested trying one of these UV cured resins, do you have any experience with CCG and Loon?
  13. Wow is right, very dissapointing. I think this is one of those circumstances that could have used some common sense.
  14. Received a nice set of flies in the mail this morning! Looking forward to trying these out next month, thanks for hosting rockworm thanks for the extra, they look great and are very well packaged!
  15. I'm in Canada, for joining US swaps there are a couple of things I need to do differently. First I need to have my flies tied/mailed about three weeks before the deadline, mailing them out two weeks before the deadline can be cutting it close. I need to add US dollars, my stamps won't work to get the flies back to Canada. My containers have to be under 3/4" otherwise they are oversized for our mailing system and puts the shipping charge over $5. I have only hosted one swap so far but I have been thinking about another. Flies coming into Canada take more time, over two weeks is not uncommon (assuming customs adds to the delay). In my swap I received six oversized containers (Altoids tins), two with US stamps and two that had no payment. I happened to be going to Bangor the week after the flies were sorted so I returned them then, otherwise it would have been cost prohibitive to send back the oversized containers. Both the swapmeister and swappers have to be responsible, although as stated earlier sometimes 'life' happens. Those cases need to be dealt with on an individual basis, one set of rules will not likely cover everything, we need to use some common sense. I'm guilty of using the TBD. Sometimes you see a swap that you want to join and to avoid missing out while researching you 'reserve' a spot with TBD. Agreed that a few days or at most a week should be enough time to research or find materials for a swap. Even with the same pattern two different people don't tend to tie the same, I don't mind a couple of swappers having the same pattern. I started joining swaps initially as a way to force myself to tie one pattern many times as opposed to tying different patterns one at a time, I believe the swaps have made me a better tier. I also enjoy seeing how other swappers tie their patterns and I receivie patterns I would not have tied or likely fished with. Swaps should be enjoyable, we should not be joining them to be aggrivated
  16. Nice Ties! I try to give 2 1/2 to 3 weeks when mailing from Canada to the US (and expect that much time going the other way), I would not consider your flies late yet
