I tied up these blondes for the Santa Swap and I think I am tieng the upper and lower wing too long. Anyone have any feedback on blondes? My pattern book says 1 1/2 to 2 times hook length but it seems too long. I tie mainly on 1/0 3407 and 34007 Mustad hooks. Thanks Dave

Can squirrel, fox etc be substituted for starling and the other bird materials and still maintain the motion in the fly. Also for soft hackles for panfish what general hook size and part no are suggested? Mustad please. Thanks Dave

Just got back into fishing lately, been crazy around here. Black 00 chennille ants with cinamon hackle mid body. Starts out dry but ends up being a wet. Nice on yellow perch and bluegills.
