  3. Give 'em the ole stamp lick. I've never had one break on me that way. ~Bryce
  4. I'm tying up flies for the upcoming year and I'm trying to get my boxes well stocked. What are some staple flies that you guys never leave home without? Thanks. ~Bryce
  5. Steeldrifter and Hot tuna have helped me out so much this year. This being my first year tying flie, I needed a lot of help. Thanks guys, I really appreciate it! ~Bryce

  12. Nice, Fred. I'm planning on heading to Holston Sunday. It can give up some great fish. ~Bryce
  13. wiggleminnow, I was in fly shop of TN just last Saturday and recognized a pic on the wall as the same one you posted in the Fall Spawning Browns Thread. I talked to a real helpful and nice guy in te shop named Ben. He told me some useful things. Great shop, too. ~Bryce
  14. Hey Graham, how 'bout a step by step? Just kidding, buddy, nice work! :headbang: ~Bryce
  15. Looks good. I bet big browns in East Tennessee tailwaters might like it... ~Bryce
  16. I regularly fish a little creek with a very healthy population of wild rainbows and I occasionally keep a couple for dinner. I can honestly say wild trout is 10 times better than a hatchery raised fish. However, I'm more into eating saltwater fish. Cobia, mahi, spanish mackerel and tuna are some of my favorites. ~Bryce
  17. Very nice flies. How do the fish respond to the pheasant tail you have pictured versus one with a peacock thorax and wingcase? ~Bryce
  18. Looking through my nymph box I realize I'm definately lacking caddis pupa patterns. Right now I just have a Caddis hook with a bead head and buggy olive dubbing. Just out of curiosity what are some good ones to tie? Thanks. ~Bryce

Fishing is reliable year-round in the southern appalachains, however those particular streams in GSMNP, I don't know how they fish right now. ~Bryce
  21. As with most flies, don't be scared to fish it small. I was fishing some sow bug flies on my local tailwater in about a 16 and caught nothing until I went to a 22. ~Bryce
  22. I have heard people mention nail polish or nail polish remover or something like that for fly tying purposes. What am I thinking of? Can you substitute it for head cement or something? Thanks. ~Bryce
  23. At least it's a dry heat. :dunno: ~Bryce
