I'm recently back to fly tying after 10-12 years away from it. I'm not seeing Cree Necks listed in tying supplies on line. Are they scarce now or called something else now days?

WD-40 isn't the best thing to use. Kroil is.

Thanks all. I feel better about not epoxying now.
-
I've built a few rods and use color preserver but not epoxy. No problems so far and much easier to replace a guide.
-
Does epoxying the wraps strengthen the rod or just make more durable wraps?

Thompson once made a midge jaw for the A-vise. Back when I could see the tiny ones that's what I tied them on.

Off to the taxidermy man

I sometimes fish micro-light. Maybe there's micro-taxidermy. -
Thanks. I'll check it out.

Why don't we have one? I have a lot of duplicates in both tools and materials.

That desk is entirely too tidy.

About three years ago. Most people in this world are good, honest and well meaning. It's the jerks that get most of the attention.

As I get older I find it difficult to focus on the fly in the vise without a sheet of paper behind the vise. Does anyone else find this so?

I once left a nice rod and reel at a boat ramp. Went back a couple days later and someone had put up a sign with their phone number on it saying they'd found a rod and reel. I called and described it and they met me to give it back.

Pretty fish. Bull trout and brook trout have been hybridizing in Montana.Big like a bull trout and take a dry fly like a brook trout. Big fun.

Bull creek fishes well upstream from 360 along Spicewood Springs road. And from the trail head at the base of Scotland Wells about a 1/4 upstream is a spillway that holds some 5lbs. bass but they're real bashful.

Are you local? If so you need to check out the San Gabriel and if you have a boat there's good fishing in downtown Austin.

I've fished that little stream for 50 years. It's prettier and cleaner now than I've ever seen it. Living waters is a treasure too. That stream has good fishing from Cedar Park to nearly Hutto. Enjoy it.

My Sage 390RPL is the same sniper rod it was when I got 30 years ago.

I just put a S.A. Mastery bass taper line on my 6wt. for bass. I've fished 444 for decades but I'm not going back.

Thanks. First I've seen with orange on the fins. Seems a bit late for spawn but I'll keep an eye out for beds in the shallows. It hit that booger like it was mad at it.

Looks fine. Not crowded head like a lot of mine. One more wrap won't hurt isn't always true.

Sounds like a Texas shower. We got 3" in 45 minutes one day last spring. At one point for a couple minutes my weather station was showing 9.9" per hour. Couldn't see my back fence 50' away.

I thought about fishing from a kayak but if I hooked a big one I'd get excited and end up in the water with the fish.
