Canada trip

Recommended Posts

Lots of water up here. My first bass of the trip and a walleye, both caught on a Tequeely.

Day 2

CandR many walleyes on a jig and minnow. Best smallie of the day. Last cast of the day, both the guide and I caught a smallmouth. All bass were caught on a Tequeely.  A great double.

Day 3

Water temperature is still cool. Bass starting to head shallow, but no beds started. Good morning with the Tequeely. The one I used for the last half of yesterday and the first half of today is shredded. I will have to rebuild it. A rainstorm came in at lunchtime and shut down the bite. Two nice pictures from today. The second one shows the Tequeely and the rod Steve built. It is an eight weight and handles wind and big fish.

Scott, our guide, said that the walleyes he has cleaned are full of hellgrimmites. The Tequeely can be taken for one.

Jeesh, more nice fish, MFG.  By your choice in reels (and rods), I can see your are a connoisseur of fine flyfishing equipment.

I can't make out the colors on your Tequeely, I usually tie them in black and orange.

Day 4

final day of the trip was yesterday. We went with a guide for walleyes using a jig and a minnow. We caught a lot, and I mean a lot of them. A great day and beautiful weather. My wife caught the last one of the day. A 27” 7 pounder. It was her PB. She did a great job with the hook set and playing of the fish. It was released. We drove home today and it will be so good to sleep in our own bed.

There was a question about colors. We used purple with yellow, black with yellow, the original brown with yellow. We also tried pink with yellow in a bay with dark water and only got a small pike.
