-WE HAVE A WINNER!-Perth AU -> PDX, guess postal time PRIZE for the winner.

Recommended Posts

On a whim, I ordered an item ( for the tying bench, I believe discontinued)  that I’ve been wanting and couldn’t find. Well I’ve found one in a fly shop in Perth Australia.  As close to half way around the world as one can get from Portland Oregon that one can get without being in the ocean.
So let’s have some fun with it.
Guess the shipping time
Was posted in Perth today, 4-4-24, 6am pacific time

Guess the number of days, starting day one today, it will take to get to my door to the closest day and hours. My usps mail usually gets here around 3-4 pm.

Just post in this thread your guess in this thread ( Days AND hours ) and the closest to the actual time of delivery will win a prize postage paid to your door by me.  I will be the sole judge and my decision on who wins is final,

Come on. This could be fun!

My guess is 23 days, 8 hours.   knowing it will undoubtedly get hung up in customs
All the shops in the US show the item as discontinued or out of stock.
If your wondering, postage was 21$ us

Item was 67$ and will be a tennis ball sized package. The cost of the item was  cheaper then buying one on that dreaded auction site, so it offset the postage cost.  It’s not toxic or any kind of restricted item as far as I know.

Got it.

Didn’t want to start a whole thing about the need for the item, it’s cost or the merits of it versus other options .

But here goes:
It’s Nothing too exotic.  It’s just that I could not find one anywhere except eBay.  Seems this item is no longer made.

I am making the move away from super glue due to the fumes and the I have developed an allergies to it. And it doesn't last all that long. The head cement that I’ve settled on , the bottles tip over to easily, ask me how I know . And, head cement can be thinned to extend shelf life .

Hence, instead of an 8$ glass bottle I decided to go for this one:

A fly tier at a show had one. Looked really cool. I’ve  Been trying to get one for months.
In my working days I would have machined my one up for myself, since retirement I don’t have machine shop access.

Got it.

Pretty optimistic, I hope it gets here that soon, I’ve waited 11 days for stuff from Montana. This thing is literally half a world away plus the whole customs thing.
